Rules and Information

Vehicle:

1) Any American made truck with a factory 6’ or 8’ bed.

2) Truck frame must be a factory 1 ton or smaller stock frame that came with a factory 6’ or 8’ bed.

3) NO straight bed trucks.

4) NO box trucks.

5) Full-size vans & full-size SUVs

 

Preparation:

1) All glass and chrome must be removed.

2) No body lifts or suspension lifts allowed.

3) Trailer hitches must be removed.

4) Any size battery may be used. Battery may be re-located to the front floorboard.

5) Radiator must stay in stock position.

6) Doors may be chained, wired, banded or welded.

7) One piece of pipe may be used behind the seat. A four-point cage may be used.

8) Any truck/car bumper may be used. DEC or SMW bumpers may be used. NO homemade bumpers. You may seam weld the bumpers but NO end caps. Bumpers may be welded to the frame.

9) Hood must have a 12X12 inch hole cut in the center.

10) All hoods must be open for inspection. Hoods may be fastened with wire, chains or bands in 6 places OR you may weld a 4-inch-long piece of angle iron, 1 to the hood and 1 to the fender, to run a ½ inch or smaller bolt through, in 4 places.

11) If the frame is broken or rusted through, you may fix the frame.

12) A-arms may be welded.

13) No adding extra leaf springs. Springs must be stock from factory. Do not weld leaf springs.

14) You may add spring stiffeners to coil springs.

15) The gas tank must be removed from the stock area. For vans & SUV’s, the tank must be located behind the driver’s seat and securely fastened and well covered. For trucks, the tank must be mounted inside the cab or in the bed directly behind the cab, securely fastened and well covered.

16) All loose objects must be removed from the cab and bed of the trucks.

17) Only factory beds are allowed. Beds can be mounted in factory mounts. Rubber mounts may be removed. No additional bolts may be added.

18) The back of the cab may be welded to the bed. Tailgates may be welded. Tucking the bedside is allowed. No other reinforcing will be allowed.

19) No hump plates.

20) No kickers.

 

Engines and Transmissions:

1) Chained or welded down engine mounts are recommended.

2) Transmission coolers are permitted.

3) All vehicles must have working brakes.

4) Engines must be stock. If you must change engines, you cannot replace the stock engine with a more powerful engine than what came in it.

5) No engine cradle, no carburetor protectors and no distributor protectors are allowed.

6) No alcohol motors.

 

Tires:

1)1) Any type of tire is permitted. No studs or screws to hold tires to the rim. No filling tires with any material.

2) NO split rims.

3) NO aluminum rims.

4) Valve stem protectors are allowed.
